Pumpers

A game of oil, rigs and sabotage for 2–6 capitalists. A faithful port of the Commodore 64 classic (1983) brought straight to the browser. Oil lies at a depth of 1 to 3,666 meters.

480 m

The drill descends 470–499 meters a year. You buy pipes in 500 m batches.

When you run out of pipes, drilling stops and the year passes. You only learn the depth of the deposit when you hit it, and some fields can even be empty. Each of the twelve fields has its own price and bottom.

You know the prices from day one

In every match, the price list is drawn for the full 35 years and visible from the start. Cheap oil today is a signal to store; an expensive year in three years is a reason to drill.

The agent and sabotage

When fair competition isn't enough, send an agent to a rival's field (33% chance of success) or sabotage their company in a manual minigame. Stop the bar at the right moment — a failed action costs you dearly.

The 1983 original and two looks

“Oel” was created in Germany for the Commodore 64, and in Poland it was known from floppy disks as “Oel Pompowacze”. This port accurately recreates the rules from the original BASIC code. You can play in a modern interface or on a simulated 40×25 character screen, and switch the look in the settings, even mid-game.

Gusher!

There is no oil deeper. Keep in mind that resources are limited to 12 fields, and there are two to six players at the table fighting for the same thing.
